Paintings

János Bittenbinder comes from Transylvania (Romania), a mythical region that belonged to Hungary at the beginning of the last century. The people of Transylvania are mainly of ethnic Hungarian descent and to this day feel connected to the language and culture of the motherland Hungary. Although he has been living and working in Western Europe since 1978, János still feels connected to the language and culture of the motherland Hungary.

Long journeys to Tibet, China and South America are his source of inspiration. The unique quality in János’s work concerns his special talent for grasping light and the effect of light. He himself says about this: “Painting is actually making music with light and color”. Bittenbinder’s paintings can be found in numerous art collections at home and abroad, including the collection of Museum Jan van der Togt.

“Painting is actually making music with light and color.”
