Erik Kierkels tells how the world for him consists of contrasts and opposites. He brings it to life by creating harmony and balance. As a viewer you can recognize yourself in his images. They have always arisen from perception with a strong sense of unique experiences that stimulate his senses. Erik Kierkels plays with gravity, his images seem to float. The subjects – figures, angels. Horses and bulls are dynamic and spatial. His visual language contains strong contrasts in color and structure, from light and dark, from playful composition to detailed anatomy.

Carried by his own passion and strength, sensitivity and vulnerability. Erik Kierkels seeks out boundaries, the unnatural and thus transcends reality, which is visually possible. His images are like life itself: a constant development in search of the essence of a moment, movement or event. You live in the same world and can therefore come into contact with his world. Erik has brought his visual language to life during his 40 years as an artist.

“Horses and bulls are dynamic and spatial. His visual language contains strong contrasts in color and structure, from light and dark, from playful composition to detailed anatomy.”
