Sculptures

Karin van de Walle studied at the art academy St. Joost in Breda with a specialization in Ceramic Design and lives/works in Germany. Karin van de Walle has developed her own visual language through her very own working method. She has mainly been inspired by artists who have found their way outside the art movements.

Van de Walle always works with themes. These return regularly, in the form of, among others, Animalgirls, Spaceangels, Showgirls, Traditional Girls, Recyclegirls. Working in detail and combining eclectic elements, exploring the limits of what can be made, is a process from which something new develops every time.

Not yet finished with one image, she considers how she can go a little further with the next image with different elements. The result is sculptures in ceramics, porcelain, cast marble, sometimes bronze and sculptures made of recyclable or recycled material. The sculptures are typical in their idiosyncrasy, their exuberant extravagance, humor and infinite mobility.

“Working in detail and combining eclectic elements, exploring the limits of what can be made, is a process from which something new develops every time.”
