Koce

Koce is the stage name of Konstantin Ivanchev.
Koce attended the Art Academy in Sofia – Bulgaria and has lived and worked in the Netherlands since 1990.
His career developed in two directions after his education: commissioned work and free work.
In recent years, Koce has shifted his focus to free work. The paradox is that the limitation required by commissioned work ultimately reflects in greater freedom in his art. “It is precisely by not constantly doing “my own thing” that I have been able to further cultivate and refine a lot of knowledge and skills and broaden my palette.”
Because of the highest quality standards (both aesthetic and technical) he has constantly had to meet. Through the great diversity of commissions in many styles, sizes and materials: from miniature via cartoon to monumental sculpture in synthesis with architecture. Through the realisation of designs. By executing work exactly to historical originals, through which Koce has discovered a lot. All these experiences have enriched him with many means of expression, both spiritual and technical, which he uses in his artworks.
“His works are brilliantly handed stories”
