Painter

Marta Jędrysko graduated cum laude from the prestigious Academy of Arts in Kraków in 1983. She has lived in the Netherlands since 1985. Each new painting is an unknown to Marta. One that seduces and loves her, lets her fall and picks her up, urges her to work hard and always takes her even further than she thought she could. Marta Jędrysko’s way of painting is characterized by the use of cheerful and bright colours.

That’s in her, but that use of color also makes it difficult. The trick is to get the bright colors in harmony. One red is not the other red. Color emanates an enormous expression. So it is not only color, but also the form that should give the whole unity and tranquility. The titles of her works often refer to well-known title songs. The title of a work should help viewers on their way, but the colors and shapes should take them with them.

“The titles of her works often refer to well-known title songs.”
