ALBERT NIEMEYER

The Netherlands, Breda 1951
Painting
From 1980, he dedicated himself to being an artist. New themes constantly present themselves, which are explored, and his technique and use of materials grow along with this development. The results are ‘Moved Sculptures’.
Periods of commissions for art projects in care with people with dementia have followed since the 1990s. In the first decades of this century, the theme ‘Revolutionary Personalities’ emerged. These portraits tell of writers, scientists, philosophers, artists, and composers who dared to think outside the box and are still influential today.
Albert also works on commission, such as (family) portraits and pets. Every work he makes, whether free or commissioned, revolves around the identity of the subject. This has great freedom in terms of form, appearance and material.
His work is in collections of museums, individuals and companies at home and abroad.
“Every work he creates, whether free or commissioned, revolves around the identity of the subject.”
