Exhibition: Kees Salentijn

Van Loon Galleries exhibition Kees Salentijn

Kees Salentijn’s extraordinary paintings will be on display at Van Loon Galleries from Saturday, August 31 through Sunday, October 6, 2024.

Kees Salentijn (The Netherlands 1947)

Kees Salentijn, born in Amsterdam, is well known to Van Loon Galleries and our collaboration stretches over several decades. Although his work has evolved over time it always contains recognizable motifs that trace back to Spanish culture.

Composition and use of color are important elements in his paintings. You could call it modern classical, but he believes a painting should look pleasing when finished. It is not always what you paint, but also the way you paint it. He likes to let the coincidence, which arises while painting, come into play as well as the will of the canvas.

A stay in Valencia has led to a beautiful recognizable collection for the collectors and admirers of his work.
