SAVE THE DATE: BIENNALE BRABANT (11-28 NOVEMBER 2021)

Biennale Brabant 2021 Van Loon Galleries

Anniversary edition Brabant Biennale

We are proud to announce the new edition of the Brabant Biennale! From 11 to 28 November, the characteristic Koepelhal in Tilburg will be transformed into an experience exhibition where culinary enjoyment and the art of no fewer than 40 (inter)national artists come together.

40 (inter)national artists

This year, no fewer than 40 (inter)national renowned artists will exhibit their works during the Brabant Biennale. Every year they succeed in sharing their ideas, feelings and impressions with the general public with their art. The art movements in which they specialize are classically modern, expressive and figurative, expressed in a great diversity of forms such as painting, sculpture, glass art and photo art. Joris van Loon, owner of Van Loon Galleries, is extremely happy and proud to be able to exhibit the artists’ work again: “The greatest common denominator of the artists we select is that their works are intriguing reflections of a unique view in the world today. This makes the Biennale not only an art event, but also a stage for contemporary ideas, impressions and feelings, which have been translated with care and dedication into art that really touches.”

Step outside your own gallery

Van Loon: “The motivation to start organizing the Biennale at the time was to make art accessible to young and old. We want to remove the barrier that people experience when entering a gallery as much as possible. The stories of artists deserve to be heard. And the more people experience the beauty of art, the more beautiful. We seem to be succeeding in this aim: the Biennale audience is becoming increasingly varied. We are very happy about this: after all, art is for everyone!” The fact that the Biennale attracts a wide audience is apparent from the fact that the first edition in Brabant in 2014 already attracted around 16,000 visitors. Last year, Van Loon Galleries welcomed more than 23,000 visitors during the Biennale in Tilburg. Everyone should feel welcome to view art. Moreover, the entrance fee for the Biennale is reasonable (€ 12.00), while the quality, quantity and variety of art is the same as that of renowned museums. It is also possible to talk to artists, Joris van Loon or one of the other art experts of the gallery. The artists like to tell about the creation of art and their craft and working methods and share their ideas behind the works with love.

Programming

In addition to the fact that the side events of thepartners, such as Rabobank, Veuve Clicquot and Van Roosmalen, and the Biennale Brasserie provide a true experience, the beautiful stands of partner and jeweler Schaap en Citroen can also be visited during the weekends. Of course you can admire the latest works of art by the artists during this edition of the Biennale. In addition, art is brought to the attention of children by inviting a number of primary schools for an instructive tour.

Culinary enjoyment

Wijnstra Catering will open a pop-up brasserie during the entire exhibition. The ‘Biënnale Brasserie’ is the place to recover from all impressions, to enjoy your art purchase or to meet friends and acquaintances. In a cozy and relaxed atmosphere you can enjoy delicious pastries with good coffee, tasty lunches, delicious snacks and drinks at any time of the day.

Public transport

The Spoorzone is located directly around Tilburg station. From the platforms you walk through the public transport gates into the station passage. You can then walk out of the station on the right. You can walk in just five minutes via the Burgemeester Stekelenburgplein towards the north side and the Burgemeester Brokxlaan, which is where you will find the Koepelhal. For this event, visitors from 13 years old need a valid corona vaccination certificate.
