VAN LOON GALLERIES: 15 YEARS IN VUGHT
Hooray! Van Loon Galleries in Vught for 15 years already
On April 7, 2007, Van Loon Galleries opened its doors for the first time in the beautiful village of Vught. Since the gallery has been in Vught for no less than 15 years, we thought it appropriate to make a small four moment of this. We would therefore like to take you along the different locations in Vught that Van Loon Galleries.
Taalstraat 53
The first building where Van Loon Galleries took up residence was the impressive building at Taalstraat 53. This monumental city villa was characterized by a beautiful tiled floor at the entrance, detailed rosettes on the ceiling and moldings on the walls and of course the impressive monumental city garden. On this approximately 1000m2 you could enjoy the art of our various artists.
Taalstraat 51
In 2016 the gallery moved to the neighbors at 51 Taalstraat in the old rectory. Although the building was about 100 m2 smaller than Taalstraat 53, it had no fewer than nine exhibition spaces. In addition, the church, which had already been used for events in the past, was also located right behind the new location. Up to and including 2020, various events and exhibitions have taken place in this monumental building.
Heuvel 4
In the summer of 2020, the doors of the gallery in the impressive city villa in the center of Vught opened. The building, which was built in 1864 as the rectory of the adjacent St. Peter’s Church, was designed by renowned architect Carl Weber. With marble floor tiles, high ceilings and a brand new bar room, the property is the perfect backdrop for the vast and diverse range of art the gallery has to offer.
“The building has marble floor tiles, high ceilings, a brand new bar room and beautiful light.”
– Joris van Loon
